About Us
Triumph Industrial Park, situated in Cecil County at 505 Blue Ball Road,
Elkton, Maryland was established in 1941 under the name Triumph
Explosives, Inc. During that time, the Navy produced 40mm shells and
hand grenade ordinances on a vast 525-acre property. Following the
conclusion of World War II, James S. Waters aongside four other
businessmen, acquired the land with the intention of transforming it into a
private industrial park.
In 1971, James E. Waters II joined the business after completing college
and formed Triumph Industrial Development. By 1983, he had taken over
ownership from his father, James S. Waters, and continued the tradition of
constructing custom buildings to suit the needs of tenants. Early on James
S. and James E. encouraged the children to work in the park during the
summers.
In 1996, James Bryan Waters, the son of James E. began working full-time
at the park. In 2000, after college Laurel Waters Poretz, James E.’s eldest
daughter, joined the business as office manager. Collectively the Waters
family continued the tradition of developing and working together as a
family team for decades.
Today the management of Triumph Industrial Development is now
overseen by J. Bryan and Laurel who collectively bring a 3r generation of
knowledge and experience. Triumph Industrial Development currently
hosts 24 tenants in 9 buildings, with over 200 thousand square feet of
improved space being leased out and over 50 acres of land earmarked for
future development within Triumph Industrial Development. Additionally,
there are around 17 other property owners who also reside in the park.
